STATEMENT OF THE
FRANCISCAN FRIARS OF THE RENEWAL ON THE DEATH OF HIS EMINENCE, EDWARD CARDINAL
EGAN
The Friars wish to express their sadness upon learning of
the passing of Cardinal Edward Egan.
We are profoundly grateful for the life and service of His
Eminence. We remember with great affection his steady leadership as the
Archbishop of New York and in particular his fatherly care and guidance of our
Community. We would like to offer our prayers and condolences to his family and
all those who mourn his loss.
May his soul, and the souls of the faithful departed, through
the mercy of God, rest in peace.
